Starrett T226 XRL 0-6" Micrometers, Carbide, .0001, Standards, B&S Mahogany Box

Description

Starrett T230 XRL 0-1"(1pc)  and Starrett T226 XRL 2-6" (5 pc)  with Brown & Sharpe 1" Disc Standard and Starrett 234 dome faced rod standards 2-5".
Comes in a freshly restored solid mahogany Brown and Sharpe box with felt lining under the thimbles and bottom of micrometer slots. Original latch and hinges.
How can you resist the Brown & Sharpe cases? When other manufactures were using mostly oak for their boxes, Brown and Sharpe went to a high end jewelry box manufacturer in Pawtucket R.I to have solid mahogany cases made. Box measures 15" long x 7 1/4" wide x 7 1/2" tall. Weighs almost 12 lbs with items shown. Well constructed. Only needed to be sanded and finished.
The Starrett 226 models fit very well in the case with lots of room. An adhesive backed felt strip was added for the resting spot of the thimbles.
The model T230 XRL 0-1" with carbide anvils and .0001 accuracy is brand new old stock right out of the box for this set. Perfect condition with no engravings.
The 3, 4, 5 & 6 inch T226 XRL have exceptional carbides and .0001 accuracy. The original owner had wax coated the carbides during storage, so they look like new.
The 2" T226 XRL also has mirror like carbides, but unlike the other 4 matching models it has a very small chip on the carbide of the body. Paint is not as bright as the other larger micrometers. Probably used more often.
Since Starrett did not make a 0-1" model 226, they would put their model 230 with these sets.
This is a nice tried and true top of the line Starrett T226 XRL set with NOS Starrett T230 XRL 0-1 micrometer. In excellent condition with exceptional condition carbide anvils.
None of the items have owners engravings.
